About the Production Company
Moçambique Audiovisual was founded by Mauricio Macedo with a vision to produce films rooted in the cultural aspects of Ceará and Northeastern Brazil, while also keeping an eye looking out over the horizon.
Between 2016 and 2017, the production house organized film exhibitions at the Dragão do Mar Art and Culture Center in Fortaleza, featuring noteworthy screenings such as Eddie Saeta – O Cinema Feito com o Coração, Cinema e Resistência and Cinema em Transe.
In 2019 the company released Greta by Armando Praça, in coproduction with Carnaval Filmes and Segredo Filmes, at the Panorama session of the 69th Berlin International Film Fest. The film was shown at over 40 international film festivals and was awarded Best Actor, Best Director and Best Film at Cine Ceará 2019.
In 2022, Moçambique unveiled two of their own projects: Fortaleza Hotel, by Armando Praça, and the series Benfica Girls, by Roberta Marques and Luciana Vieira, which aired on Canal Brasil.
