Maurício Macêdo

Maurício Macêdo is film producer with a degree in advertising from UFC and in Audiovisuals from Unifor, both in Fortaleza. He has garnered experience working on diverse projects for well-known directors such as Marcelo Gomes, Rosemberg Cariry, Ivo Lopes Araújo, Petrus Cariry and Leonardo Mouramateus, among others.

Along with this he has also actively taken part in film festivals such as Cine Ceará and For Rainbow. Mauricio was also active as producer of the Porto Iracema Arts Film School workshop and the Inflamável Development Hub headed by Karim Aïnouz.

Maurício has had a prolific career as an executive producer of several feature films and series, including "Greta" (Berlinale Panorama, 2019) and "Fortaleza Hotel" (2022), both directed by Armando Praça, "Motel Destino" (Cannes Competition, 2024) by Karim Aynouz, "Sleep With Your Eyes Open" (Berlinale Encounters, 2024) by Nele Wohlatz, "I Built a Rocket Imagining Your Arrival" (2024) by Janaína Marques, "As Aparências Enganam" (2024) by Sabrina Greve and Luciano Patrick, "Glory & Freedom" (2024) by Letícia Simões, as well as the series "Benfica Girls" (Canal Brasil 2022) by Roberta Marques, and "Se Avexe Não" (EBC 2023) by Luciana Vieira, Wislan Esmeraldo, and Victor Costa Lopes.

He also has credits as a pline producer in several series and feature films, including "Time Hustler" (Netflix, 2023), "Lana & Carol" (Tv Brasil/EBC 2018), "Bem-Vinda a Quixeramobim" (2022) by Halder Gomes, and "A Bruddah's Mind" (2021) by Déo Cardoso.

Currently, Maurício Macêdo is actively involved as a producer in six projects at different stages of development. These projects include the animated feature films "The Crab's Eyes" and "Glory & Freedom", as well as the fiction feature film "I Built a Rocket Imagining Your Arrival," directed by Janaina Marques.

Maurício has participated in various international markets and labs, including BRLab (Brazil), Torino Film Lab (Italy/Germany), Produire Au Sud (France), Cinéma en Construction (Peru), FirstCut Lab (France), Primer Corte Ventana Sur (Argentina), among others. He is also a member of the Paradiso Talent Network, an organization that brings together emerging professionals in the Brazilian audiovisual industry.
